近十来年 ,船舶的电力推进技术已逐渐步入应用阶段。目前 ,大约有百来艘不同类型的船舶使用了电力推进系统。推进电动机可能是直流、交流同步电动机或交流感应电动机。自 2 0世纪 80年代以来 ,用于电动机速度控制的功率电子驱动的出现已经愈来愈受到人们的关注 ,尤其是它在科考船、破冰船以及邮轮上的应用。研究报告认为 ,虽然商船的综合电力推进系统提高了船的建造费用 ,但是 ,却降低了运行和支持费用以及其生命周期里的整个费用 ,其投资费用估计会在 2~ 7年左右的时间内收回。
Electric propulsion has been in use in limited applications for a few decades. Today, it propels hundreds of ships of various types. The motor for propulsion is DC, AC synchronous or AC induction. The advent of power electronic drives for controlling the motor speed has attracted new interest since the early 1980s, particularly for research vessels, ice breakers and cruise ships. Many studies have confirmed that IEP in merchant ships would increase the acquisition cost, but would reduce the operating and support costs and an overall reduction in the life-cycle cost. The estimated payback period will be 2 to 7 years depending on the ship's operating profile.
