BACKGROUND: There are many operative ways for curing prolapse of lumbar interventebral disc. We should pay attention to decreasing operative trauma when choosing operative style, keeping structure of posterior gray column of spinal cord at the most to sustain stability of spine and avoiding losing excessively the mechanical function of lumbar vertebrae.
