摘要
《朗文当代英语词典》(Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English)是一部最具典范性的以实用为编纂原则的英语学习词典。该词典前后三版在收词、立目等宏观结构方面的变化,充分展示了英语学习词典近几十年来的一个发展趋势,即:早期主要体现编者的意志,中期注重反映语言的实际情况,后期注重考虑使用者的需求,体现了从使用者的角度来考虑词典的宏观结构安排,以满足学习者的需求为出发点的实用性原则。
Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English is popular among English learners for its practicality. The three editions of the dictionary differ from each other in macrostructure, since its compilers followed different principles. They adopted presciptivism in the first edition and descriptivism in the second, while in the third they tried to arrange its macrostructure in such a may as to satisfy the needs of the users.
