This paper discusses the design of a new typical, microcomputercontrolled acousto-optic rapid scanning spectrometer, which utilizes an acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) as the wavelength dispersing component,thedesign method and the major operating features of such a spectrometer aredescribed in detail.
