摘要
本文简要论述了天山南北山麓地带第四纪的重大事件。它们是强烈的第四纪构造活动、黄土堆积、山麓冰川作用以及古人类活动等。指出这些事件中诸多问题需要深入研究的必要性。
The important events occurred at the piedmont of Tian Shan mountains are the intensive neotectonic movements, loess accumulation, piedmont glaciations and ancient human activities. The neotectonic movements lead to the formation of the modern Tian Shan mountains. As a result the old piedmont areas were lifted and become the part of the Than Shan Morntain System. There is a common distribution of the Loess at the northern slope of Tian Shan morntains and, on the contrary, only a small parts of its southern slope is occupied by the loess. The piedmont glaciations can be found in relics at its either side. The ruins in Neolithic Age were discovered to be the only remains of human activities in prehistory. Those occurrences and the relevant problems, such as their age determinations, are very essential for understanding the Quaternary and need to be studied deeply.
