In information society, people′s idea, belief and convention have been changed dramatically. A great change also has occurred in architecture design field. This essay forecasts urban life and the corresponding new trends of architecture design in information society. Furthermore, it affirms the application of virtual reality, which not only makes architecture design more visible and authentic, but also transforms the traditional design process enormously. Status and function of the architect who participates in the design are altered accordingly. We are required to apply the new concepts in treating, understanding and executing city planning and architecture designing in today′s information society, which is an urgent but attractive challenge for all the professionals to face.
