Along with geographic information system (GIS) rapidly developed and extensively applied,more and more geographic data have been obtained. These valuable resources are stored in distributed heterogeneous geographic information databases in all kind of formats.Therefore,it brings about a lot of inconvenience to integrating and sharing these databases and challenge in the context of network.The paper discusses the actuality of geographic data integration and sharing,then proposes a XML based framework of distributed heterogeneous geographic information databases.
