摘要
简单介绍了流变学的概念和两种基本研究方法,基于大陆岩石圈较大洋岩石圈有更为复杂的流变特征客观事实,指出研究大陆岩石圈流变学的重要性,并提出几个主要的研究方向和领域。
This short paper indicates that rheology is the branch of physics dealing with the deformation and flow of materials. There are two basic approaches to the study of rheology. It is emphasized that processes of deformation and flow ubiquitous within the Earth ?and the processes within the continental lithosphere are more complex than the oceanic litho-sphere. Consequently, an understanding of rheology is a prerequisite for the study of continental geologic processes involving deformation and flow. Rheology forms a fundamental part of tectonics, geophysics and geodynamics. Indeed, mechanical and thermal processes concerning rheological stratification of the continental lithosphere, strain localization and shear zone development and the evolution of orogenic belts can not be unravelled without an apreliation of rheology.
