碳酸盐岩中的稀土元素可作为古海洋发展演化的示踪剂。陕南南岭地区上下古生界碳酸盐岩具完全不同的稀土元素地球化学特征,形成于不同的大地构造环境。推测在早古生代末期古秦岭海洋已关闭。
The REE geochemical characteristics of carbonate rocks are of great significance in the study of the development and evolution of the ancient ocean. Carbonate rocks of the Lower and Upper Palaeozoic in southern Qinling, Shaanxi Province show significant differences in their respective REE geochemical characterises. The Lower Palaeozoic carbonate rocks are rich in LREE, with ∑Ce/∑Y = 7.29-9.50 and no remarkable Ce and Eu anomalies. The Upper Palaeozoic equivalents are characterized by obvious Ce and Eu anomalies, with ∑Ce/∑Y = 1.44-4.06. The Lower and Upper Palaeozoic carbonate rocks are also different in REE pat-terns. The REE geochemistry data available would lead to such a conclusion that the ancient Qinling Ocean had closed up at the end of the Lower Palaeozoic.
