摘要
安徽贵池沿江地区有一套红色地层,长期未发现化石,其时代未能得到解决。1987—1989年,笔者等在贵池乌沙区陈家冲江边窑厂测制剖面时,在这套红色地层上部发现了大量蜗牛化石,经余汶、冯伟民鉴定,时代定为早第三世。 贵池陈家冲窑厂双塔寺组剖面(图1)
The fossil gastropods dealt with in this paper were first found from the Guichi area in 1989. Strata yielding these fossils are regarded to be Upper Cretaceous and can be compared with the Shuantashi Group in Xuanchen. This group contains abundant gastropods, ostracodes and mammals and many others of Late Paleocene-Early Eocene age. The Lower Tertiary consists of continental red elastics is widely distributed in the Lower-Middle Yangtze Valley. Similar deposits are Tujinshan Formation in Jiashan and Zhangshanji Formation in Laian.
