摘要
以供应链数字化建设提升企业ESG(environmental,social,and governance,环境、社会和公司治理)表现,不仅是推动新质生产力形成的有力抓手,也是实现中国经济绿色高质量发展的本质要求。该研究以供应链创新与应用试点政策为准自然实验,采用中国A股上市公司2009—2022年数据,系统评估了供应链数字化对企业ESG表现的政策效应及内在传导渠道。研究表明,①供应链数字化显著提升了企业ESG表现,有利于推动企业绿色转型升级。该结论在考虑异质性处理效应、置换检验、变更识别策略、控制并行政策干扰等多重情形下仍然稳健。②机制检验表明,政策效应的有效发挥,得益于数绿融合创新以及降本增效协同。③供应链数字化对企业ESG表现的提升效应在非国有企业、高纵向一体化水平以及高市场化水平的企业样本中更为显著。④进一步研究发现,供应链数字化建设存在显著的溢出效应,不仅有利于提升试点企业自身的ESG表现,还会产生有效牵引和驱动,使得供应链上下游企业ESG表现协同提升。因此,应持续深化供应链创新与应用试点工作,扩大政策试点企业范围,充分发挥其生态引领和绿色示范效应,促进企业ESG表现提升;畅通影响渠道,通过赋能企业数绿融合创新与降本增效协同以整合资源,多举措协同并进推动企业ESG表现提升;构建多层级ESG溢出效应传导体系,通过标杆引领和集群协同放大政策效能。
Enhancing corporate ESG(environmental,social,and governance)performance through supply chain digitization is not only conducive to promoting the formation of new quality productive forces but also an essential requirement for achieving green and highquality development of the Chinese economy.The study used the pilot policy of supply chain innovation and application as a quasi-natural experiment and employed data from Chinese A-share listed companies from 2009 to 2022 to systematically evaluate the policy effects and internal transmission channels of supply chain digitization on corporate ESG performance.The study found that:①Supply chain digitization significantly improved corporate ESG performance,which was conducive to promoting green transformation and upgrading of enterprises.This conclusion remained robust under multiple scenarios such as heterogeneity treatment effects,permutation tests,change identification strategies,and controlling for parallel policy interference.②Mechanism testing showed that the effective implementation of policy effects benefited from the integration of digital and green innovation,as well as the synergy of cost reduction and efficiency improvement.③The improvement effect of supply chain digitization on corporate ESG performance was more significant in samples retrieved from non-state-owned enterprises,enterprises with high vertical integration levels,and enterprises with high market integration levels.④Further research found that there were significant spillover effects in the digital construction of the supply chain,which not only benefited the ESG performance of pilot enterprises themselves,but also generated effective traction and driving forces to synergistically improve the ESG performance of upstream and downstream enterprises in the supply chain.Therefore,efforts should be made to continue to deepen the pilot work of supply chain innovation and application,expand the scope of policy pilot enterprises,fully leverage their ecological leadership and green demonstration effects,and promote the improvement of corporate ESG performance;streamline the influence channels,integrate resources through empowering enterprises to integrate digital and green innovation and reduce costs and increase efficiency,and promote the improvement of enterprise ESG performance through multiple collaborative measures;and build a multi-level ESG spillover effect transmission system,and amplify policy effectiveness through benchmark guidance and cluster collaboration.
