摘要
中华民族与国家相伴而生,国家演进过程是理解中华民族共同体形成与发展的主线根基。古代中国总体上经历了“古国”国家、“王国”国家和大一统国家三个阶段的演进过程,并孕育形成了中华民族共同体这一国家层面的民族实体。中华民族共同体在长时段依托国家演进过程中不断孕育着自身形态,经由“古国”时代至夏商周时期逐渐以华夏族为凝聚核心形成华夏共同体,至秦汉大一统国家建立后中华民族共同体得以持续巩固发展,其根本特征是在各民族向内融聚的发展趋势中形成了与统一的多民族国家相对应的中华民族多元一体格局,并继续向更高层次一体凝聚的国家共同体迈进。
The Chinese nation emerged alongside the state,and the process of state evolution serves as the foundational thread for understanding the formation and development of the Chinese national community.Ancient China underwent,in general,three stages:the“ancient state”,the“kingdom state”,and the“unified state”,during which the Chinese national community—a national-level ethnic entity—was nurtured and formed.Relying on the long-term process of state evolution,the Chinese national community continuously developed its form.It began with the Huaxia people serving as the cohesive core during the pre-Qin period,gradually took shape as a Huaxia community during the Xia,Shang,and Zhou dynasties,and was consolidated and developed after the establishment of the unified Qin and Han dynasties.Its fundamental characteristic lies in the formation,amidst the inward integration of various ethnic groups,of a pluralistic yet integrated structure of the Chinese nation that corresponds to a unified multi-ethnic state.Then,it continued to advance toward a higher-level,integrated national community.
