摘要
《东坡先生外集》是《东坡七集》最重要的补编,其现存晚明重编本收诗、文、词近2600首,可谓宏富,并附审刑院本《乌台诗案》。目前未见其编者的直接证据,但多方面线索显示蒋璨最有条件编辑该书,或至少是其主编者,成书于他1140年代中期闲退宜兴之时。该书随即被麻沙书商篡改并编入更能迎合读者需求的新版《东坡大全集》,乃其承传不彰的主因之一。晚明康丕扬等人以抄本重编,才避免其失传的危险。该书篇目皆《东坡七集》所未收,苏轼全集遂得以真正形成;又尽量分类编年,保存了苏轼交游和行实方面的关键材料,读者也可借以全面了解苏轼个性、人格和不同阶段的心路历程。总之,《东坡先生外集》传播的显隐决定着苏集编刻品质的高低,其价值是多方面的,现行诸本苏集对它的利用也仍有未尽之处。
The Dongpo Xiansheng Waiji is the most important supplementary collection of Dongpo Qiji.Re-edited in the late Ming dynasty,the extant version contains nearly 2600 shi and ci poems and essays,and a special edition of The Wutai Poetry Case that had come from the Procuratorate of Review Criminal Liability in Northern Song dynasty.So far there has been no direct evidence to show who had edited the Dongpo Xiansheng Waiji,but substantial clues suggested that Jiang Can was most likely the editor,or at least the primary editor,who had edited the book approximately in the middle 1140s when he stayed at home idly in Yixing County.Later,it was falsified and included in a new edition of Dongpo Daquanji by a bookshop owner in Masha Town,who aimed to better suit the readers of his day.It might be one of reasons why Dongpo Xiansheng Waiji did not get widely circulated.Kang Piyang and his collaborators of late Ming reedited the book based on two handwritten copies,saving it from extinction.As all the works in this volume had not been included in Dongpo Qiji,it contributed to complete works of Su Shi.The editor classified the contents in chronological order,thus preserving the critical information about Su Shi’s life,with which readers may understand Su Shi’s personalities and inner feelings of different stages of life.To sum up,the editing and circulation of Dongpo Xiansheng Waiji largely decided the quality of Su Shi’s complete works.It is of great value in many ways,and the extant editions of Su Shi’s works cannot be said to have fully utilized it.
