摘要
袁君煊博士所著的《瑶族“朝踏”仪式与文献》一书,建立在文献与仪式互涵互动的基础之上,运用了田野调查与文本分析相结合的研究方法,对湘桂毗邻区平地瑶的“朝踏”文献进行了汇编,也对“朝踏”的仪式与文献进行了学理性分析,是一部值得学术界关注的著作。不过,该书也存在着一些瑕疵。具体而言,该书介绍性内容偏多,研究性内容偏少,部分问题存在着继续深入讨论的空间,研究方法还可以进一步完善,而且上编各章的体例不够一致,还在部分内容代入了作者的主观情感,“朝踏”一词的具体含义也存在商榷的空间。
Dr.Yuan Junxuan′s work,The"Chaota"Ritual and Documents of the Yao Ethnic Group is grounded in the mutual impli⁃cation and interaction between documents and rituals.Employing a research methodology that combines field investigation with tex⁃tual analysis,the book compiles the"Chaota"documents of the Pingdi Yao people from the contiguous areas of Hunan and Guangxi provinces and provides a scholarly analysis of the"Chaota"ritual and its related documents.It is a work worthy of academic atten⁃tion.However,the book exhibits certain shortcomings.Specifically,it contains more introductory than analytical content,and leaves room for deeper exploration of some issues.The research methodology could be further refined;and the chapter structures in the first part lack consistency;subjective tone is occasionally present;and the precise meaning of the term"Chaota"remains debat⁃able.
