Intestinal microecology is the second largest virtual organ of the human body, and its balance and disorder affect the occurrence and development of a variety of digestive tract diseases.Among the intestinal flora,Akkermansia muciniphila(Akk)is one of the most promising probiotics for the treatment of digestive tract diseases, and its outer membrane protein Amuc_1100 plays a key role in improving intestinal barrier function and regulating immune homeostasis. However, its specific mechanism is extremely complex, which is the focus of current medical research. This article reviewed the role and regulatory mechanism of Amuc_1100 in digestive tract diseases, and discussed its application prospects in drug development and treatment,in order to strengthen the understanding of the interaction mechanism between intestinal microflora represented by Akk bacteria and the host, and lay the foundation for new intervention strategies for related digestive tract diseases.
