摘要
绿色发展是高质量发展的内在要求,也是新时代生态文明建设的治本之策。人工智能的快速发展正引领技术创新轨道发生深刻变革,着力发挥人工智能对绿色技术创新的数智化赋能效应,对于新质生产力培育和绿智融合发展具有重要现实意义。基于2011—2023年中国284个地级及以上城市的面板数据,实证研究人工智能发展对城市绿色技术创新水平的影响及机制。研究发现:人工智能发展有效促进了城市绿色技术创新水平的提升,该结论在考虑样本范围、替换核心变量、处理内生性问题后依然稳健。机制分析表明,人工智能主要通过促进数实技术融合、强化金融科技支持、推动产学研合作,持续发挥数智赋能的引领效应,进而对城市绿色技术创新产生积极影响。异质性分析发现,人工智能对东中部地区、大中型规模城市、数字基础设施较好城市、创新能力强的城市的绿色技术创新水平的促进作用更为显著。本研究为新发展格局下更好发挥人工智能的引领力和转型力,推动科技创新与产业创新深度融合发展提供了新的经验证据和决策参考。
Green development constitutes the foundation of high-quality growth and the fundamental pathway to achieving ecological civilization in the new era.As a general-purpose technology,artificial intelligence(AI)is reshaping the trajectory of technological innovation.Leveraging AI's digital and intelligent capabilities to empower green technological innovation has significant implications for cultivating new quality productive forces and promoting the integration of digital intelligence with sustainable development.Based on the panel data of 284 cities in China from 2011 to 2023,we empirically investigate the impact of AI development on the level of green technological innovation.The empirical findings reveal three main results.Firstly,AI development significantly enhances the level of green technological innovation in cities.This effect remains robust across a battery of robustness checks,including alternative variable definitions,subsample analyses,the inclusion of interactive fixed effects,and instrumental variable strategies to address endogeneity.Secondly,mechanism analysis shows that AI positively affects the level of urban green technology innovation by promoting the integration of digital and real technologies,strengthening financial technology support,promoting industry-university-research collaboration,and exerting the leading effect of digital intelligence empowerment.Thirdly,heterogeneity analysis indicates that the positive impact of AI on green innovation is more pronounced in cities located in eastern and central China,those with larger economic scale,more advanced digital infrastructure,and stronger innovation capacity.This study provides novel empirical evidence and policy insights on the role of AI as a transformative force for enabling green technological innovation and advancing high-quality economic development under China's new development paradigm.
