摘要
在早期儒家道德哲学中,“诚意”是自修的重要途径,它既有“贯彻善良意志”扩充先天道德意向之旨,也具有通过自省活动实现自觉的意味。“意”的基本结构决定了作为自省的“诚意”不是对于抽象自我的反思,而是必须将自我置于“共在”的背景中,从而准确认识自然欲望经过文化共同体的塑造而产生的习心。作为自省的“诚意”,其途径并不局限于狭义的自我反思,还可以从“共在”之中汲取“他正”的要素以提升“自正”的效果。深度自省与包容批评还可以进一步改变交互方式,避免个体陷入“临人以德”的倾向。由此,自然生发的宽厚气质,除了收获良好的人际效应之外,也可以辅助个体的优良品质更有效地对他者施与积极影响,进而起到改善伦理世界的作用。
In Confucian moral philosophy,“sincerity”(Cheng Yi)serves as a crucial path for self-cultivation.However,the fundamental structure of“intention”(Yi)dictates that“sincerity”is not a reflection on an abstract self but must situate the self within a structure of“co-being”.This allows for an accurate recognition of how the“primordial simplicity”of natural desires is shaped by“co-being”to produce a“habituated mind”.Furthermore,the practice of“sincerity”is not confined to narrow self-reflection;it can also draw elements of“external rectification”from“co-being”to enhance the efficacy of“self-rectification”.Profound introspection and openness to criticism further transform modes of interaction,preventing individuals from falling into the tendency of“imposing virtue upon others”.This process naturally cultivates a magnanimous disposition,which not only fosters positive interpersonal effects but also enables individuals to more effectively impart their virtues to others,thereby contributing to the improvement of the ethical world.
