摘要
环南海地区自明初以来陆海军事防御格局便表现得十分复杂。尤其随着海氛日涨,滨海地域时受扰动,自洪武初年便对海防建设十分究意,这一点在环南海地区的卫所建置问题上表露无遗。然而,由于史籍记载较为零散,且颇多抵牾,故而环南海地区卫所在建置时间以及驻地、辖区的变动等问题上尚需借助多重材料,并参照实地考察作出进一步的考订。从空间部署看,环南海地区卫所设置呈现重沿海而轻内陆,东西路密而中路疏的特征。卫所大多设于沿海水陆交通要隘、海口、湾澳,半岛、海岬对峙之处,根据陆地形势,形成线状、环状结构,控阨海湾、水道等海陆交通的枢纽,也由此折射出明代南海海防在时空格局上的若干用意。
The pattern of military defense on land and sea around the South China Sea has been very complicated since the early Ming Dynasty.Especially,with the rising sea atmosphere,coastal areas were disturbed.Since the early Hongwu years,the government had been very concerned about the construction of coastal defense,which was clearly shown in the construction of the South China Sea area.However,due to scattered and contradictory historical records,it is still necessary to rely on multiple materials and make further examination with reference to field investigation on the issues such as the time of construction,the change of residence and jurisdiction of the defense stations around the South China Sea.From the perspective of spatial deployment,the setting of defense stations in the South China Sea region shows a characteristic of emphasizing coastal areas over inland areas,and being dense in the east and west while sparse in the central region.Most of the defense stations are located in coastal water and land traffic passes,estuaries,bays,peninsulas,and headlands facing each other.Based on the land situation,they form linear and circular structures,controlling sea and land transportation hubs such as bays and waterways,which reflects some of the intentions of the Ming government’s South China Sea coastal defense in terms of spatial and temporal patterns.
