摘要
建设绿色数据中心是构建新一代信息基础设施的重要任务,也是发展新质生产力的必然选择。本文基于2015—2022年A股上市公司数据,将分批次实施的国家绿色数据中心建设政策视为一项准自然实验,利用多期双重差分法研究了绿色数据中心建设对企业绿色创新的影响效应及作用机制。研究发现,绿色数据中心建设对企业绿色创新水平具有显著的提升作用,且主要通过缓解企业融资约束、增强企业研发投入力度以及提高企业环境社会责任三条路径予以实现。异质性分析发现,绿色数据中心建设赋能企业绿色创新水平提升的效果在数据资产规模更大、位于竞争程度更高行业的企业以及环境规制力度更大和数字基础设施水平更高的城市较为显著。拓展性分析发现,绿色数据中心建设对企业的实质性绿色创新和策略性绿色创新均具有显著的正向促进作用。本文研究了数字化与绿色化协同发展对企业绿色创新的赋能效果,为提升数据中心能效和促进绿色低碳发展提供了经验证据和政策启示。
Building green data centers is an important task in constructing the new generation of information infrastructure and an inevitable choice for developing new quality productive forces.Based on the data of A-share listed enterprises from 2015 to 2022,this paper regards the National Green Data Center Pilot policy implemented in batches as a quasi-natural experiment,and uses the multi-period differencein-differences method to examine the impact and mechanism of green data center construction on enterprise green innovation.The study finds that green data center construction has a significant effect on improving the level of enterprise green innovation,primarily achieved through three paths:alleviating enterprise financing constraints,increasing enterprise R&D investment,and strengthening enterprise environmental and social responsibility.Heterogeneity analysis reveals that the effect of green data center construction in enabling the improvement of enterprise green innovation level is more significant in enterprises with larger data asset scales,in industries with higher competition,and in cities with stronger environmental regulations and higher digital infrastructure levels.Expansion analysis shows that green data center construction has a significant positive promoting effect on both substantive green innovation and strategic green innovation of enterprises.This paper studies the enabling effect of the coordinated development of digitalization and greening on enterprise green innovation,and provides empirical evidence and policy inspiration for improving data center energy efficiency and promoting green and low-carbon development.
