Science fiction writers provide spectacular imaginations on what cities look like in the future, with a shared repertoire of city types such as Interplanetary City,Techno City,Migratory City,Disaster City, and Ruined City, etc.Imagination on future cities is not only an important dimension of the construction on the future world-building,but also a potent response to the social issues in reality. This research makes a comparative study between Chinese science fiction writer Hao Jingfang's Folding Beijing and Korean-American writer Chang-rae Lee's On Such a Full Sea by focusing on the division of city space and the border-crossing journey of the protagonists,so as to analyze the function of mobility in leading to some transformations on either the individual or the society.
