摘要
FAIR原则(可发现、可访问、可互操作和可重用)对于促进全球科学数据共享和治理具有重要指导意义,但其在地球科学领域的适用性如何,如何在地学领域落地实施,如何通过FAIR治理促进AI-Ready数据支撑,已成为当前迫切需要解决的问题。针对地球科学数据特点,开展地学数据FAIR化治理的评估体系设计与评估实践。融合国际FAIR评估指标研究成果,制定适用于地学领域的FAIR原则指标框架,其中包含4个核心项目和17个具体指标。基于GitHub开源平台开发FAIR原则实施程度评价工具,并实现对世界数据系统—环境与信息数据出版系统(WDSPANGAEA)和深时数字地球大科学计划数据仓储(DDE-Repository)两个地学开放数据平台的案例评价。对比分析评价结果丰富了对地球科学数据FAIR治理的认识,基于此提出地学领域FAIR数据治理策略建议。
The FAIR principles(findable,accessible,interoperable,and reusable)are highly significant for advancing the sharing and governance of global scientific data.However,how applicable are they in Earth sciences?How can they be effectively implemented in this field?And how can FAIR governance support AIready data?These are pressing questions that require urgent attention.This study investigates the characteristics of Earth science data and develops an evaluation system for FAIR-based governance of geoscience data.By synthesizing international research on FAIR assessment metrics,we established a FAIR principle-based indicator framework tailored to geosciences,comprising four core components and 17 specific indicators.Utilizing the GitHub open-source platform,we created a tool to assess FAIR compliance and applied it to evaluate two data platforms in earth science field:the Data Publisher for Earth&Environmental Sciences(PANGAEA)in World Data System and the Data Repository in Deep-time Digital Earth Programmer(DDE).A comparative analysis of the results enhanced our understanding of FAIR governance for Earth science data,leading to the proposal of FAIR data governance strategies recommendation for the geoscience community.
