To explore the row spacing and pla nting density on soybean agronomic characters and yield. This article used Shanning 29 as the experimental material and adopted a split-plot design to analyze the agronomic characters and yield performance of Shanning 29 under different row spacings(30,40,50 cm)and planting densities(120000,150000,180000,210000,240000,270000,300000 plants/ha).The results showed that as planting density increased, the plant height and bottom pod height of Shanning 29 exhibited a fluctuating upward trend, while the number of effective branches decreased significantly;the number of main stem nodes showed no notable change, and yield components-including the number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, and seed weight per plant-displayed a decreasing trend, with the overall yield first rising and then declining. In contrast, with an increase in row spacing, the plant height, bottom pod height, number of main stem nodes, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant,100-seed weight, and total yield of Shanning 29 all tended to decrease, whereas the seed weight per plant followed a pattern of first increasing and then decreasing.Collectively, these findings indicated that the optimal combination for Shanning 29 to achieve high-yield was a row spacing of 30 cm paired with a planting density of 270000 plants/ha.
