摘要
要了解海洋过去的沉积过程、环境条件和阐明海洋发展的历史过程,首先必须对古海洋的物理的、化学的和生物的特征进行重建研究。这是需要借助于海洋古生态学知识的。而海洋古生态学的基础,却是建立在以现代海洋生态学的知识来对海洋古生物及古海洋环境的推断上。虽然,这种从现代海洋来推断古海洋的性质与情况,并不一定都是完全正确的;但是,我们可以相信,在现代海洋与古海洋所发生相同性质的物理的、化学的和生物的现象及其变化过程,是具有共同点的。
In the present article,a continuation of our previous report on the planktonic Fora-minifera of the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea,an account is given of the quantitative distribution of various species and an attempt is made to correlate the.patterns of their distribution with the conditions of the environment in which they occur.All the species discussed here have already been described in our first taxonomic report with the exception of 2 additional species which were found as a result of quantitative analysis of material.Fifty grams of dried sediment from each sample was used for quantitative analysis.
