Professor Luo Lianggong's latest work,English Poetry Studies:New Perspectives and Development, offers a systematic synthesis and theoretical framework for English poetry studies within the perspective of Sino-foreign comparative poetics.Using Chinese scholarship on American poetry as its core case, the book delves into the innovations and practices of Chinese scholars in areas such as critical discourse on English poetry, poetic theory, ethnic poetry studies, and the development of academic platforms and mechanisms. The work embodies four key innovative contributions:first,it excavates the underlying logic of Chinese scholarship to construct a Chinese intellectual discourse system for English poetry research;second,it establishes a research paradigm that integrates historical and theoretical approaches while fostering mutual learning between Chinese and international academia;third,it focuses on the ontological study of poetry, introducing original insights into poetic theory.Fourth,it highlights the significance of ethnic English poetry, facilitating dialogue between"central"and"marginal"perspectives in academic discourse.By successfully mapping the academic genealogy and contemporary features of English poetry studies in China, the book makes a substantial contribution to promoting indigenous innovation in foreign literary studies in China.
