A EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF FERRO-CORDIERITE SYNTHESIS BY QUENCHED POWER-STATION SLAG

摘要 铸石是一种人造岩石,是以玄武岩、辉绿岩或某些工业废渣为原料,经配料、熔化、浇铸成型、结晶、退火而成的一种新工业材料。它具有良好的耐磨和耐化学腐蚀性能,目前,已广泛应用于冶金、矿山、发电、煤炭、石油、化工、建材、轻工业等部门,并取得了显著的效果。 The ferr-cordierite is easily synthesized by quenched power-station slag in the range 800-1140℃.Experimental samples were crystallized under the reduction condition provided by the carbon powder.In the experimental study on the system of FeO-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2),a new polymorphous phase of ferro-cordierite was obtained.This phase is a solid solution with high temperature quartz-type structure being analogous to that of Mg-cordierite.The synthesized ferro-eordierite has lattice dimension of a_(0)=5.196A,c_(0)=5.364A,and refractive index n=1.578-1.583.It began to crystallize at 700℃and transformed to ferro-cordierite at 850℃.The lattice dimension of the ferro-cordierites synthesized at 850,900,950,1000,1070 and 1140℃were measured by means of X-ray powder diffractometry.All of the distortion indices of the ferro-cordierites are equal to zero,and its measurements clearly show very low coefficient of expansion.
