摘要
文章在Chomsky“投射的问题”暨“加标算法”句法理论框架下对Arregi总结的复合词重音规则进行了细化和重述,提出了“重读分叉中心语”这一复合词重音分配规则,并用它分析了包括名词性复合词、VOX型含动复合词及OVX合成复合词在内的三大类不同长度的汉语复合词的句法结构和重音配置方案。与Arregi对英语和德语的分析一样,文章对汉语复合词的分析结果中也包括各级次重音信息,而不像Cinque提出的“深重原则”那样只能分析核心重音。文章的分析结果符合母语者的语感,可为将来的实验验证做理论指导。
Building on a refinement and restatement of Arregi's compound stress rule within the framework of Chomsky's"Problems of Projection(POP)and Labeling Algorithm(LA),this paper proposes the Stress Branching Head(Stress-BH)rule for compound stress assignment.With the Stress-BH rule,the paper analyzes the structural and prosodic patterns of three categories of Mandarin compounds of varying lengths:nominal compounds,VOX compounds,and OVX synthetic compounds.In line with Arregi's analysis of English and German compounds,our analysis of Mandarin compounds reveals gradient stress patterns across constituents,rather than a single nuclear stress as proposed in Cinque's"stress the deepest"theory.The findings match with native speaker intuitions and offer a theoretical basis for future experimental phonological research.
