摘要
在朱子仁学工夫论中,诚意作为“圣凡分别关隘”,居于枢纽位置,前则接格物致知而格致之功俱收敛于诚意而为诚意工夫之所始,后则开正心修身之途而有明德工夫之日进无疆。朱子强调“诚意”需以格物穷理所得之“真知”为前提,并通过“毋自欺”消除意念自身之虚妄夹杂,实现善恶抉择的纯一不欺;同时兼之以“慎独”工夫审察未发之念,阻断气禀物欲的潜在干扰。就诚意与格物的关系而言,二者实“相生相涵”:格物提供“真知”,诚意则转化“真知”为意志定向,使天理生生不息地落实为道德实践。
