摘要
塔希提岛是南太平洋上的法属波利尼西亚118个岛中的主岛,也是目前法属波利尼西亚华人社团最多、最集中的地方。100多年来,随着历史演进与华人本身的需要,塔希提华人逐步创办了信义堂、吾行堂、中华会馆等种类繁多的政治、文化、地缘组织,提升了华人在当地的社会地位,社团也在不断发展中增加了更广泛的功能,在当地华人与新华侨、政府、中法波交流中逐渐展现出更重要的作用。
Tahiti,the largest of the 118 islands of French Polynesia in the South Pacific,is home to the most populous and concentrated Chinese community in the region.Over the past century,in response to historical developments and the evolving needs of the community,Chinese residents in Tahiti have established a range of political,cultural,and regionally based communities,such as the Si Ni Tong,Ng Hang Tong,and Philanthropic Association.These organizations have played a significant role in elevating the Chinese community’s social standing.Over time,they have expanded their functions and have become vital institutions in connecting local Chinese communities,recent Chinese immigrants,and the government while also facilitating cultural exchanges between China,France,and French Polynesia.
