摘要
《方言》为西汉扬雄所作,东晋郭璞最早为其作注。其中第七卷原文“羅謂之離,離謂之羅。”郭注:“皆行列物也。”郭璞此处注释存在争议。清钱绎作《方言笺疏》引用《左氏春秋》中杜预注“離,陳也”佐证之,此处补充例证同样存在争议。是注释者对“羅”与“離”本义理解错误,并将“離”与“列”“蠡”“曆”等相混淆所致。
Fangyan was written by Yang Xiong in the Western Han Dynasty,and Guo Pu of the Eastern Jin Dynasty was the first person to annotate it.In the 7th volume,there is a sentence“Luò(羅)is called lí(離),and lí(離)is called luò(羅).”Guo Pu annotated it like this:“They are both things arranged in rows.”Guo Pu’s annotation here is controversial.In Fangyan Jianshu,Qian Yi(the Qing Dynasty)cited Du Yu’s annotation that“Lí(離)means chén(陳,arranging in order)”in Zuoshi Chunqiu as evidence,but this example is also controversial.The reason for these controversies lies in the annotator’s misunderstanding of the original meanings of“luò(羅)”and“lí(離)”and their confusion with words like“liè(列,row)”“lí(蠡,snail shell used as a measure)”and“lì(历,clear and distinct appearance)”.
