雅趣、禅意与自娱:论明中后期绘画中的香炉及对文人形象的建构

Aesthetic Pleasure,Zen,and Self-Entertainment:——On Incense Burners in Late-Ming Painting and the Construction of the Image of Men of Letters

摘要 自宋代以来焚香便是文人生活中不可缺少之美事,至明代已然成为其身份和品位的表征。香炉在明中后期文人生活中除作为焚香器物和文房清供之外,更兼有赏玩的功能,于是香炉不仅出现在其生活的各类场合,而且在表现文人生活为主题的绘画中也成为常见元素:一方面香炉是文人风雅生活氛围的营造者,参禅悟道时的重要器物,另一方面也是红袖相伴闲居的参与者,从而在建构其高雅绝俗、避世养性以及在闲居生活中寻找精神寄托的形象中起到积极的作用。 Since the Song Dynasty,burning incense has been an indispensable pleasure in the lives of scholars,and by the Ming Dynasty,it had already become a representation of their identity and taste.In the late-Ming period,incense burners served not only as tools for burning incense and as part of the scholarly literary and artistic environment,but they also had an ornamental function.As a result,incense burners appeared in various aspects of their daily lives and became a common element in paintings depicting scholar life.On one hand,incense burners contributed to the ambiance of elegance and refinement in scholarly living,serving as important objects during Zen meditation.On the other hand,they were participants in leisurely living alongside red sleeves,thereby playing an active role in constructing images of scholars who were elegant,detached from the mundane,nurturing their minds,and seeking spiritual solace in a recluse lifestyle.
