A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE ORIGIN OF THE XIKUANGSHAN ANTIMONY DEPOSIT IN HUNAN

摘要 湖南锡矿山锑矿,解放前后曾有不少中外地质学者作过调查、研究,都认为属低温热液矿床,这一成矿理论一直沿用至今。近年来,笔者通过对成矿控制因素的分析研究,初步认为锡矿山锑矿是以陆源海相沉积为基础,经成岩和后期改造而富集的层控矿床。 In this paper,the metallogenic controlling factors of the Xikuangshan antimony deposit are studied,and a new idea different from the magmatic hydrothermal theory of ore deposition is proposed.In terms of ore-bearing wall-rocks,so-called silicified limestone is actually quartz siltstone and calcareous siltstone,but most of these rocks have recrystallized to a certain extent,and some even have become quartzite.In terms of spatial distribution,this deposit is located in a delta-front facies zone.The siltstone body in this zone commonly contains 0.04—0.45% of antimony,obviously different from the overlying and underlying beds.The orebodies are well layered,coincident with the occurrence of the strata.Microgranular stibnite with quartz and argillaceous material forms cements.Platy oblique bedding is observed in some orebodies.In ore beds stibnite veins,quartz veins and various larger stibnite crystals generally do not cut bedding planes;those that cut bedding planes are mostly distributed in places where fractures are developed.The above-mentioned characteristics indicate that this deposit is a stratabound stibnite deposit that was formed by deposition and late-stage modification,its ore metal was derived from pre-Devonian strata.
