摘要
在汉英表达中,以“腕”为源域的隐喻普遍而丰沛,不仅反映了我们对世界的直观判断理解,也折射出两种语言对于力量、技巧和控制的共同感知。本文基于CCL和COCA语料库,深入探讨“腕(wrist)”隐喻运用,并将其置于体认语言学与文化脚本理论的双重观测管道之下,考察对比厘析两者之间的精细异同。研究发现,两种语言虽在某些隐喻表达上存在诸多共性,但文化背景和价值观的差异也导致了各自独特的隐喻模式。
In both Chinese and English,the metaphorical employment of the term“wrist”as a source domain witnesses extensions and variations.These metaphors not only mirror our instinctive assessments and comprehension of the world but also reflect a shared conceptualization of strength,dexterity,and control within both linguistic communities.The study explores the metaphorical uses of“wrist”in both languages based on CCL and COCA,subjecting them to a dual analytical lens of Embodied Cognitive Linguistics(ECL)and cultural script theory to scrutinize and contrast nuanced distinctions.The research reveals that while there are numerous overlaps in metaphorical expressions across the two languages,differences in cultural context and values have generated distinct metaphorical schemas.
