摘要
海相早石炭世地层,在我国西南和西北地区分布广泛,发育完全,但以腕足-珊瑚相居多,菊石相还只见零星报道。最近新疆区域地质调查队在东、西准噶尔和北天山等地,均发现了以含菊石化石为特征的石炭纪地层。本文所描述的材料,是由新疆地层表、古生物图册编制小组,新疆工学院及中国地质科学院地质研究所三室上古生代组,共同于1977年7月采自新疆东准噶尔纸房地区的东古鲁巴斯套附近(巴斯套一一哈萨克族语,泉)。
The materials studied in this paper were collected in July,1977 from the Donggulubasitao(东古鲁巴斯套)Formation,near Donggulu Spring,Zhifang(纸房)area,East Junggar,Xinjiang.The ammonoids include four genera and five species:Protocanites firmus sp.nov.,Merocanitcs tenuis sp.nov.,Gattendorfia parapplanata sp.nov.,Zhifangoceras subglobosum gen.et sp.nov.and Z.zhifangense gen.et sp.nov.,of which one genus and five species are new.Based on the lithological and palaeontological characters,the Donggulubasitao Formation of the Lower Carboniferous is divided into three members,and the ammonoid fossils occur in the lower member and at the base of the middle member.The discovery of these ammonoids has not only enriched the contents of Lower Carboniferous ammonites in China but also provided new clues for the classification and correlation of the Lower Carboniferous at home and abroad.The lower member of the Donggulubasitao Formation corresponds to the Tournaisian Stage,while the middle member characterized by the appearance of Merocanites may be correlated with the Visean Stage.Description of new genusFamily Goniatitidae Haan,1825Genus Zhifangoceras gen.nov.Type species:Zhifangoceras subglobosum gen.et sp.nov.Diagnosis:Shell medium to large in size,involute,thickly lenticular or subglobose in shape.Umbilicus rather narrow and deep with subangular shoulders and steep walls.Surface smooth or marked by a few faint wrinkles at the venter of the adoral part of living chamber and 3—4 rather wide and shallow constrictions on the outer whorl.Suture-line goniatitic.The ventral lobe is wide,divided by a higher siphonal saddle into two rather wide and long lanceolate branches.The outer saddle is subangular at top.The lateral lobe is wide subtriangular in outline and short umbilical lobe on the wall.The internal suture is unknown.Horizon and Locality:Middle to Upper part of Lower Member,Donggulubasitao Formation of Early Carboniferous.
