摘要
断肠草初名野葛、胡蔓,宋代粤人熟知其性状及危害后,称之为“断肠草”。明清广东经济社会发展迅速,为了获取利益,百姓频繁服用断肠草轻生抗争及图赖。明前期府县官为维护百姓生命安全,尝试立法遏制服断肠草轻生行为及消灭断肠草,但各地官府及仕宦之间未形成治理共识。万历中期广东按察司著令府县铲除断肠草,仕宦鉴于断肠草屡禁不绝要求立法惩治服毒。清初地方势力服断肠草图赖,两广总督和朝廷制定法规应对。官府在治理断肠草的过程中进一步了解地方社会,从而加强对基层社会的管理策略保障民生安宁。
"Duanchangcao(guts-broken herb)"originally was known as"wild kudzu"or"foreign vines"After familiarity with its shapes properties and hazards,Guangdong people in Song Dynasty called it guts-broken herb".During Ming and Qing Dynasty,Guangdong economy and society experienced rapid developments.In order to gain benefits,ordinary folks frequently took guts-broken herb in suicidal rebellion or intentional false incrimination.During early Ming Dynasty,fu and county officials attempted legislations to prevent suicidal behaviors and to eradicate guts-broken herb in order to protect life and safety of the people,yet no management consensus was reached among officials of various places.During the middle of the Reign of Wanli,Guangdong Chief Justice ordered fu and county officials to eradicate guts-broken herb,whereas officials demanded legislations to punish taking of poison due to rampant takings of the guts-broken herb despite repeated prohibitions.During early Qing Dynasty,local forces took guts-broken herb for intentional false incrimination purposes,when Governor of Guangdong and Guangxi and the Imperial Court made laws and regulations to cope with.During process of management of the guts-broken herb,the government further understood local society and strengthened management strategies of grassroot society to protect people's safety.
