Biological control,an environment-friendly pest control strategy,has attracted wide attention all over the world.Therefore,the paper comprehensively discusses the actual situation,advantages and challenges of applying biological control in plant protection,and the development trend of biological control in the future.Firstly,the paper analyzes the advantages of applying biological control in plant protection,including reducing the use of chemicals and other pesticides,reducing the impact on the surrounding environment and human health,and controlling plant diseases and insect pests sustainably.Secondly,the paper discusses the great challenges faced by biological control,such as analyzing the host range of pathogens and its environmental adaptability,as well as the largescale production and application technology of biocontrol agents.Finally,the future development of biological control is prospected,including the utilization and development of emerging technologies,multi-strategy integration,product development and market promotion.
