加利福尼亚大学伯克利分校历史系博士研究生培养模式研究

摘要 加利福尼亚大学伯克利分校历史系以其卓越的教学和研究闻名,吸引了全球优秀的学生和学者。作为顶尖学术机构,该系致力于培养高层次、宽领域、多样化的专业人才。博士生需选择四个学习领域、修读九门课程,涵盖历史方法论和教学方法等。该系鼓励跨学科研究,为博士生提供丰富的学习资源,评价机制包括课程考核、外语考核、阶段性考试和博士论文,注重多元化的评价主体、内容和方法。这一培养模式为我国博士生教育尤其是历史学博士生培养模式提供重要启示:一是真正构建跨学科课程体系,促进院校之间的合作与资源共享;二是强调博士生对专业基础知识的掌握,通过有效的考核方式确保学生具备扎实的学术基础;三是重视多语种的应用与考核,提升学生的国际竞争力;四是切实锻炼博士生的教学能力,建立“教研并重”的培养理念,以提高博士生的整体素质和未来职业发展潜力。 The History Department at the University of California,Berkeley,is renowned for its exceptional teaching and research,attracting outstanding students and scholars from around the world.As a leading academic institution,the department is committed to cultivating high-level and diverse professionals across a broad range of fields.Doctoral students are required to select four areas of study and complete nine courses,including historical methodology and teaching methods.The department encourages interdisciplinary research and provides a wealth of learning resources for doctoral students.The evaluation system includes course assessments,foreign language examinations,qualifying examination,and doctoral dissertations,emphasizing a diverse range of evaluative subjects,content,and methods.This training model offers important insights for doctoral education in China,particularly in history:first,it emphasizes the establishment of a truly interdisciplinary curriculum to foster collaboration and resource sharing among institutions;second,it stresses the importance of doctoral students mastering foundational knowledge,ensuring a solid academic base through effective assessment methods;third,it values the application and assessment of multiple languages to enhance students international competitiveness;and fourth,it effectively trains doctoral students in teaching abilities,promoting a“balance of teaching and research”philosophy to improve overall quality and future career potential.
