Counties are emerging as increasingly important units of China’s national economy.As of the end of 2023,China has 59 counties with annual GDP exceeding 100 billion yuan($14 billion),and their combined GDP reached 9.6 trillion yuan($1.3 trillion),accounting for 7.6 percent of the country’s total.
