摘要
近年来,学界关于数字生命的研究成果颇丰。现有研究多从数字生命的思想源流、数字生命的技术实践以及数字生命的权力关系与批判这三方面入手,多是形而上式的研究路径,鲜有从社会实际情况出发将数字生命置于具体关系与实践情境中的研究。从市场角度进行研究分析可知,当前的数字生命其本质就是商品。数字平台垄断了生产数字生命这一商品所需的生产资料,即数字印痕及技术算法。其一,逝者生前遗留于数字平台的数字印痕被数字平台“占为己有”,这使得数字平台具备了“复活”逝者所需的原料;其二,数字平台掌握了收集及有效组合数字印痕以成为数字生命的技术算法。在此基础上,数字生命成为资本谋取剩余价值的商品,这使生者陷入此岸与彼岸的困境之中。由此,数字平台与用户达成“将你的记忆卖给你”的经济关系,导致生者陷入记忆-技术拜物教无法自拔。个体欲摆脱记忆-技术拜物教、于此岸与彼岸的困境中解放出来,便需遵从生理本能的遗忘功能,接受对逝者的遗忘事实,以期在数字时代摆脱技术牢笼、复归人本。
In recent years,academic research on digital life has yielded substantial outcomes.Existing studies predominantly follow three approaches:tracing the intellectual origins of digital life,examining its technological practices,and critiquing its power dynamics.These largely metaphysical inquiries,however,rarely situate digital life within concrete social relations or practical contexts from the actual social situation.From the perspective of market,an analysis reveals that contemporary digital life is fundamentally a commodity.Digital platforms monopolize the means of production required for this commodity,namely,digital traces and algorithmic technologies.First,digital traces left by the deceased on platforms are expropriated as proprietary resources,enabling platforms to“resurrect”the dead.Second,these platforms control the algorithmic technologies that collect,curate,and synthesize digital traces into digital life.Grounded in these dual mechanisms,digital life emerges as a premium commodity for capital to seek surplus value,trapping the living in a dichotomy between the living and the deceased.Consequently,platforms establish an economic relationship with users to“sell your memories back to you”,leading to the inability of the living to extricate themselves from memory-technology fetishism.To liberate individuals from this fetishism and resolve the existential tension between life and death,it is necessary to adhere to the physiological instinct of forgetting and accept the natural oblivion of the deceased in order to break free from technological constraints and return to humanity in the digital age.
