Preventive Measures for Friable Sand Core Defects

摘要 以发动机4缸缸盖的冒口芯为例,介绍了制芯过程中因模具局部排气不良或三乙胺泄漏而产生疏松问题,分析了其产生的原因,通过射砂面积与排气面积的合理设计,不仅解决了砂芯疏松问题,还使制芯时间由原来的100 s缩短至80 s,提高了生产效率。最后指出:(1)冷芯制芯工艺的控制要点是排气、三乙胺、水分和压力,合理设计排气,能够弥补芯盒结构或砂芯结构的一些不足,确保砂芯质量。排气效果越好,射砂时间越短,水分是主要因素,压力是基础。(2)整体冷芯盒冒口芯的紧实是动能和压力差综合作用的结果,可通过工艺改进形成压力差来解决局部射不实问题。 Using the riser core of an engine 4-cylinder head as an example,friability issues caused by inadequate local mold venting or triethylamin(TEA)leakage during core production were introduced.Through optimized design of the sand shooting area-to-vent area ratio,core friability was resolved while reducing core-making time from 100 sec to 80 sec,enhancing production efficiency.Finally pointed out:(1)Critical controls for cold-box core-making included venting,TEA management,moisture content,and pressure.Rational vent design compensated structural flaws in core boxes or sand cores,ensuring quality.The better the exhaust effect,the shorter the sand shooting time.Moisture was the main factor,and pressure was the foundation.(2)The compactness of the integral cold core box riser core was the result of the combined effect of kinetic energy and pressure difference.The problem of local misfire could be solved by forming pressure difference through process improvement.
