Introduction.The 6^(th) International Dyke Conference(IDC)was held on the banks of the Ganges River,in the ancient town of Varanasi,northern India.The sixth instalment,in a highly successful series of conferences,a gathering of close to 200 international and Indian delegates and dyke swarm researchers was hosted by Banaras Hindu University.
