The Old Town of Lijiang,Gucheng District,Lijiang City.Yunnan Province.Witha total area of slightly under 7.28 square kilometers,the site comprises Dayan Old Town(including the Black Dragon Pond)and the Shuhe and Baisha traditional housing clusters.Construction began on the town in the late 13th century,with its streets winding through mountains and along waterways of the area.From its overall urban layout to its engineering and architecture,the town blends together the cultural essence of several ethnic groups.
