Objective Meta-analysis of the efficacy of moxibustion in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Methods Randomized controlled trials(RCT)of moxibustion in the treatment of KOA were retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),China Academic Journal Database(Wanfang),Chinese Science and Technology Journal Service Database(VIP)and PubMed,the retrieval time was from January 1,2014 to January 31,2020,two researchers independently extracted the data and assessed the risk of bias,Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.2 software. Results A total of 9 literatures and 812 patients were included, all literatures were at low risk of bias.Meta-analysis results showed that the total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(OR=2.23,95%CI[1.35,3.70],P=0.002);The score of visual analogue scale in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(MD=-0.55,95%CI[-0.82,-0.28],P<0.0001);the Western Ontario and McMaster University arthritis index score in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(MD=-4.55,95%CI[-6.64,-2.46],P<0.0001).Conclusion Moxibustion is more effective than other methods in the treatment of KOA with fewer adverse reactions.
