摘要
民国歙县商人吴义荫所抄录的往来书信,生动展现了乱世中普通徽商的社会关系、生存困境、日常生活及家庭教育。吴义荫的社会网络以乡谊亲情为核心,向经商地辐射。在商业经营中,吴义荫面临抵制外货风潮、天灾人祸、盗匪横行和交通不便等多重挑战,折射出动荡时局下商人群体的艰难境遇。吴义荫在书信中以日常叮嘱传递温情关怀,通过谋职互助维系同乡关系,既重视儿子永年贽定等传统礼俗,又在教育中融入新思潮,体现了徽商家庭新旧观念的碰撞与调适。这些书信揭示了徽商在近代化转型中以乡谊网络为依托、以开明态度应对社会变革,更从微观层面呈现了民国基层社会的复杂实态,为研究过渡时期徽商形象与社会变迁提供了鲜活个案。
The correspondence copied by Wu Yiyin,a merchant from Shexian County during the Republic of China era,vividly depicts the social relations,survival predicaments,daily life,and family education of ordinary Huizhou merchants in the chaotic times.Wu Yiyin's social network,centered on hometown friendship and family ties,radiates to the places where he does business.In his business operations,Wu Yiyin faced multiple challenges,such as the trend of resisting foreign goods,natural disasters and man-made calamities,rampant bandits,and inconvenient transportation,reflecting the difficult circumstances of the business community in the turbulent times.In his letters,Wu Yiyin conveyed warm care through daily reminders,maintained the relationship among fellow townspeople by seeking employment and mutual assistance,and not only attached great importance to his son Yongnian's betrothal ceremony but also integrated new ideas into his education,displaying the collision and adjustment between the old and new concepts in the Huizhou merchant family.These letters reveal that Huizhou merchants relied on their hometown friendship networks and responded to social transformation with an enlightened attitude.The letters presenting a complex reality of the grassroots society in the Republic of China from a micro perspective are the evidence for the study of the image of Huizhou merchants and social changes during the transitional period.
