学术性与社会性交融:美国南卡罗来纳大学新生研讨课的实践与启示

摘要 以探索和研究为基础的新生研讨课,对于大学生本科四年的发展有着奠基作用。南卡罗来纳大学新生研讨课从理念目标、组织实践到影响成效都体现着“学术性与社会性交融”的特色,在促进学生学业成功与社会发展方面发挥了独特作用。经久不衰的课程范式为我国新生教育的开展提供新的思路,在顶层设计上要考虑促进新生学习与发展功能定位相结合,在内容形式上要注重适应引导与能力培养相结合,组织上要强调学生事务和学术事务等多样化教育主体支持相结合。 First-year seminars,grounded in exploration and research,play a foundational role in the development of undergraduate students throughout their four-year college journey.The first-year seminar program at the University of South Carolina exemplifies the unique characteristic of"integrating academic rigor with social relevance"in terms of its guiding principles,organizational practices,and impactful outcomes.It plays a distinct role in fostering both academic success and social development among students.This enduring course model offers new insights for developing freshman education in China.Regarding top-level planning,it is essential to align the programs functional orientation with promoting the learning and development of first-year students.Concerning content and format,emphasis should be placed on the integration of orientation/adaptation support with competency cultivation.Organizationally,it is crucial to stress the combination of support from diverse educational stakeholders,including student affairs and academic affairs units.
