Across China,local governments are implementing the urban renewal guidelines issued by the general offices of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council,the country's highest state administrative organ,in early May.These policies target the transformation of aging cities through several key pillars including renovating old residential communities,upgrading urban infrastructure,restoring ecological systems,preserving his-torical heritage and optimizing city functions.
