摘要
采用中国工业企业数据库和海关企业数据库匹配数据,计量分析全球价值链参与对企业出口产品质量的影响发现:总体而言,价值链参与显著提升了企业出口产品质量。中国尚未进入价值链参与对出口产品质量抑制的阶段。在考虑了变量内生性、替代性指标和样本异常值后,计量结果依然稳健;机制分析表明:价值链参与可以通过进口产品种类多元化、技术溢出效应等途径促进企业出口产品质量的提升;扩展分析表明:价值链参与时长在1-3年内,企业出口产品质量得到较大提升,但随着价值链参与时间的进一步延长,价值链参与的出口产品质量提升效应并不明显。
Global value chain participation has driven China's export trade to experience substantial growth,yet academic debates persist regarding its quality-enhancing effects on Chinese export products.Based on the latest matched data from the China Industrial Enterprise Database and Customs Database,this study employs quantitative methods to examine the impact of global value chain participation on export product quality.The findings reveal three key insights:(1)Overall significance:global value chain participation demonstrates a statistically significant positive correlation with export product quality improvement.China's current development stage has not yet manifested the hypothesized quality-suppressing effects of prolonged global value chain engagement.These results maintain robustness after controlling for endogeneity issues,applying alternative measurement approaches,and addressing sample selection biases.(2)Mechanism channels:The quality enhancement primarily operates through three mechanisms:(a)diversification of intermediate inputs,(b)technology spillover absorption,and(c)assetspecific capability accumulation.(3)Temporal dynamics:While short-term participation(1-3 years)generates substantial quality improvements,the marginal gains diminish significantly as participation duration extends beyond this initial phase,suggesting non-linear temporal effects.
