摘要
美国普利策小说奖得主、小说家伊丽莎白·斯特劳特创作的短篇小说集《奥丽芙·基特里奇》描写了主人公奥丽芙·基特里奇与克劳斯比小镇居民的悲欢离合的人生故事。小说中,主人公与亲人、邻里相互关爱,与环境之间相互依存的和谐关系,体现了小说家斯特劳特的开放宽容、友爱互助的共同体愿景。该文运用滕尼斯的共同体理论,探讨该作品中以亲情关系为纽带的血缘共同体、人与生存环境形成的地缘共同体,以及小镇居民因共情互助而形成的精神共同体。斯特劳特的共同体书写不仅给予读者心理慰藉,增强读者的社会责任感与归属感,更为人们共同应对生活的挑战、构建和谐共生的命运共同体提供了借鉴与思考。
Olive Kitteridge is a collection of short stories written by American novelist Elizabeth Strout,the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.It depicts the sad and joyful life stories of the protagonist Olive Kitteridge and the residents of Crosby Town.In the stories,the caring,interdependent and harmonious rela-tionships between Olive and her relatives,neighbors and the environment reflect Strout's community vi-sion of openness,tolerance,love and support.Under the guidance of the community theory of Tönnies,this paper explores the community of blood,the community of place and the community of spirit.Strout's community writing not only offers psychological comfort for the readers and enhances their sense of social responsibility and belonging,but also provides a reflective reference for people to tackle challenges togeth-er and build a harmonious and coexisting community with a shared future.
