摘要
密尔的修正方案拓展了功利主义解释的纵深与幅围,也不得不直面与自由原则相冲突的问题,在过去一个半多世纪的讨论中,学者们的批评与辩护热情从未止歇。约翰·格雷在梳理与总结前人观点的基础上,较为系统地给出了一个兼具首创性与忠实性的辩护,其中弱父爱主义立场的论述经典地重构了密尔功利原则与自由原则之间的关系框架,但仍存在一些解释方面的内在困境。通过对密尔文本和论证逻辑的重新检视,在约翰·格雷论证的基础上,尝试提供一种德性解释进路的新审视,以期有所新的拓展与阐发。
Mill's revised scheme expanded the depth and scope of utilitarian interpretation,and also had to confront the conflict with the principle of freedom.In the discussion over the past century and a half,scholars'enthusiasm for criticism and defense has never ceased.On the basis of sorting out and summarizing the views of previous scholars,John Gray systematically presented a defense that combines originality and fidelity.The discourse of weak paternalism classically reconstructed the relationship framework between Mill's utilitarian principle and freedom principle,but there are still some inherent difficulties in interpretation.Through a re-examination of Mill's text and logical reasoning,based on John Gray's argument,an attempt is made to provide a new perspective on the interpretation of virtue,with the aim of expanding and elucidating it.
