摘要
互动式元话语可以表达作者对命题内容和读者的态度,并与读者建立互动关系。在Paul A. Samuelson《经济学》五个版次的引言中,第1版中互动式元话语使用很少,作者与读者保持一种疏远的关系;后续版次中互动式元话语的使用呈增长趋势,作者更注重与读者的互动。通过考察互动式元话语在引言中使用的变化趋势,可以了解作者身份构建的动态变化,增强对大学教材这一特殊语体的认知,同时对学术英语教学和教材撰写有一定的启示意义。
Interactional metadiscourse signals the author's attitude towards the content and the readers,and helps to establish interaction with the readers.In the introductions of the five editions of Paul A.Samuelson's Economics,the author uses far fewer interactional metadiscourse features,maintaining a more detached relationship with his readers in the first edition.In the subsequent editions,increasingly more interaction with the readers is achieved through the growing use of interactional metadiscourse.Examining the diachronic variation of the interactional metadiscourse used in the introductions can help understand the dynamic construction of authorial identity,enhance the cognition of university textbooks as a unique genre,and have enlightening implications for academic English teaching and textbook writing.
