摘要
胡适在留学美国时期埋下了在中国建成一流大学的理想种子,并终生为实现这一理想而奋斗。胡适的一流大学理想,参照系是世界一流大学,核心内涵是学术研究和学术独立,但由于历史条件的限制,他的这一理想在现实中却屡屡受挫,以至于他抱憾终身。胡适的一流大学理想是中国近代高等教育史上一份难得的思想遗产,有独特的理论价值,对于当下我国已经开启的世界一流大学建设工程,仍然不失启迪和借鉴的意义。
Hu Shih planted the seed of the ideal of building first-class universities in China when he was studying in the United States,and fought for the realization of this ideal throughout his life.Hu Shih's ideal of first-class universities,the reference point is the world's first-class universities,the core connotation is academic research and academic independence,but due to the limitations of historical conditions,his ideal in reality has been repeatedly frustrated to the point of lifelong regret.Hu Shih's ideal of first-class universities is a rare ideological heritage in the history of modern Chinese higher education,with its unique theoretical value,and it is still meaningful to enlighten the construction project of world-class universities that has been started in China.
